A new version of my Flow and Return Temperature Sensor PCBs arrived today!

It took a about two weeks from order to delivery with Aisler.net. Delivery was free, so I can’t really complain too much.

Aisler are a European company. They accept KiCad files, directly, which means I don’t need to worry about other formats. They are also in Germany, so the boards have less distance to travel!

I have ordered from OSHPark in the US before. Cheaper boards, but postage was very expensive.

This is the second time I’ve ordered from Aisler.

Front looks fine, but the BATT1 label could do without the 1
It’s kinda cool seeing my name on the board!

My main concern with this version of the board is whether or not my oval battery terminals will work.

You see, the XIAO nRF52840 has the battery pads on the rear of the board.

The first time I tried, the boards had a circular through hole in line with the pads along with a cut out.

The first batch of boards didn’t print correctly, so I had another go.

This time I made large oval through holes instead of small circular ones.

The pads align perfectly, but I don’t know if they are wide enough for my solding iron!

The tip of my soldering iron *should* reach through the whole to the battery pad. If it doesn’t, I’m not sure what I’ll do!

All part of the learning process.

Stay tuned for updates!
